Explanation
Each pharyngeal arch keeps its own nerve however far its muscles migrate. Arch one takes V3 and gives the muscles of mastication, mylohyoid, the anterior belly of digastric, tensor tympani and tensor veli palatini. Arch two takes the facial nerve, arch three the glossopharyngeal, and arches four and six the vagus.
