Q1 · Thoracic Duct
EasyThe thoracic duct drains into the venous system at which site?
Explanation
The thoracic duct ascends from the cisterna chyli, crosses to the left at about the level of T5, and empties at the junction of the left internal jugular and left subclavian veins. It therefore drains the whole body except the right upper limb and the right side of the head, neck and thorax. That remaining territory drains through the right lymphatic duct on the opposite side.
